Update on "bundled annexations"

Hello OCVA members and friends,

You may recall the story in our last newsletter about North Plains, where residents filed suit against the City to force them to separate their 144-acre annexation application into separate measures per ORS 222.111(7).

As we reported in our last alert, that annexation proposal was rejected. We have learned that the plaintiffs have dropped their suit since it would no longer have the potential to change the outcome of the election. They will be watching to see what happens if (when) the next annexation proposal is submitted in North Plains.

OCVA will also continue to monitor this issue. If you become aware of any other attempts at "annexation bundling," please contact us immediately.

Treasurer
