SB 307 hearing postponed

We were just informed by Senator Schrader's office that the hearing on SB 307, originally scheduled for Jan. 31 as noted in our earlier communications, has been postponed.

A new date has not yet been established. As we advised you earlier, it's very common that hearings get postponed and/or rescheduled….so hopefully there's nothing sinister to be read into this. However, this will be a "must kill" issue for the usual opponents and they will use every weapon in their potent arsenal to do so. Given Senator Ringo's historic support for school SDCs, I'm going to be optimistic and assume we didn't just see an example of the use of those weapons.

We will let you know as soon as we find out any additional information. In turn, please let us know if you learn about anything new related to this bill or others that we should be tracking.

You can continue to get your written, faxed, phoned and emailed testimony to the Senate Environmental and Land Use Committee and to your own representatives.

Jerry Ritter
Secretary, OCVA
