2005-03-28 Alert

Legislative Alert

SB-887 (revokes island annexation language of ORS 222.750), previously scheduled for a second hearing on 3/29 has been pulled from that day's schedule and moved to 3/30.

SB 307 (school SDCs) is also on the agenda for 3/30 before the Senate Environment & Land Use Committee. The hearing is scheduled for 3 PM in Hearing Room "B" at the capitol.

307 is second on the list and will almost certainly receive a hearing. 887 is last. With such a late start there's a good chance it won't get a hearing - unless Chairman Ringo decides to hear all bills at once as he did on "annexation day." That's not as likely this time.

If you plan to go, contact Katie Lowry the morning of 3/30 (503-986-1639) to confirm these bills are still on the schedule. If you're not going, please be sure you've gotten your testimony in. I will not be able to attend the 3/30 hearing.

As of today, the 4/1 work session by the House Land Use Committee for HB 2484 is still on the schedule. I am planning to attend this one.

Jerry Ritter
Secretary, OCVA
