HB 2484 HEARING!!!!

MAJOR CHANGE FOR HB 2484: as of this morning the bill has been pulled off the road to the Rules Committee (and near-certain death) and WILL HAVE A PUBLIC HEARING!

When: Thursday, June 2 8 AM!! Where: Hearing Room 343 at the Capitol

Contacts for the Senate Environment & Land Use Committee:

sen.charlieringo@state.or.us
sen.ginnyburdick@state.or.us
sen.rogerbeyer@state.or.us
sen.frankshields@stte.or.us
sen.jasonatkinson@state.or.us

The only explanation that makes any sense for the change is YOUR LOBBYING! Now we have to convince the members to move the bill to the Senate floor. Talking points:

  1. Restore fairness to "service provider annexations;" give those most impacted a voice in the process.
  2. Your colleagues in the House gave the bill a 45 - 13 endorsement.

...and I'm sure you can think of others. YOU got it this far. Now we need your help to move it to the Senate floor through massive numbers of contacts to the committee members.

Of course, all this could change in the next hour. We'll keep you posted as best we can.

Jerry
